Purple is a social enterprise that uses music and fashion to inspire activism. We aim to create meaningful ways for students to partner with the community and connect with other students who share their passions. September 7th through September 11th Purple's Social Activism Week will sweep Duke's campus. This week will culminate with the Purple Concert on September 11th. The concert will mark the turning point from a week of awareness to a lifestyle of action. The goal of Purple is to make social engagement an integral part of peoples' lives, just like the clothes they wear and the music they listen to, making activism routine and accessible. After the concert Purple will serve as a resource to ensure sustainable engagement and to encourage students to act upon the energy built during the week. We are starting at Duke University and plan to take Purple to campuses nationwide. We believe in Purple and we hope you will too. |
